I can’t imagine becoming a writer without my family, particularly my grandmother and my parents. I was born in Tehran and came to America as a young child, and it was only in my twenties that I found out my mother harbored a decades-old secret about her early life in Iran. I write about the experience of discovering that hidden history in my memoir The Good Daughter. These photos from my album offer a peek into my life and my family history. I hope you enjoy them!
